Privacy Policy

We collect nothing. That's the whole policy.

Effective June 2026 · Applies to the Rune Dream app and this website

The short version: Rune Dream collects no data about you. Not your voice, not your words, not your usage, not your identity. There are no servers to send anything to, no accounts to create, no analytics of our own, and no third-party code in the app. Everything you make stays on your device, under your control. The one honest caveat: Apple's platform (the App Store and TestFlight) collects some standard analytics of its own — that's Apple's collection, not ours, and it's described below.

Why this is possible

Most apps promise to protect your data after collecting it. Rune Dream is built so the question never comes up. Every part of the app that touches your thinking runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad — speech recognition, the language model that organizes your thoughts into cards, the embeddings that group related ideas, sentiment sensing, all of it. There is no Rune Dream backend. There is nothing for your data to travel to.

This isn't a configuration we could quietly flip later — it's the architecture. Privacy by policy asks for trust. Privacy by architecture doesn't have to.

What we don't do

The network guard

The app enforces this at runtime: a network guard blocks any outgoing request that isn't to an Apple system endpoint required by the operating system itself. Even a bug couldn't quietly phone home.

One deliberate exception exists, and you control it: Glyph apps you build can connect to live data sources (a stock ticker, an RSS feed) — but only to domains you've explicitly allowed. Those requests go directly from your device to that service. They never pass through us, and we never see them. The services you connect to have their own privacy policies.

Device permissions, and why we ask

Every permission is optional. The app asks only when you use the feature, and works without any of them.

How your work is stored

The honest caveat: Apple's side

Rune Dream is distributed through Apple's App Store and TestFlight, and Apple's platform collects some analytics by default — things like installs, sessions, crashes, and device type, governed by Apple's privacy policy and your device's analytics settings. Apple shows us some of that in aggregate, anonymized form, and during the beta it may include crash logs and any feedback you choose to send through TestFlight.

To be plain about it: this is Apple's collection, not something we built or can switch off, and it never includes your content — your transcripts, recordings, documents, and everything else you make are not part of it and never reach us.

Children

Because Rune Dream collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the change will be posted here with a new effective date. The commitment that your data stays on your device is the foundation of the app — any future version of this policy will keep it.

Questions

The easiest way to reach us during the beta is through TestFlight feedback — open TestFlight, choose Rune Dream, and send feedback. We read everything.
